WINTER

Saw my doctor yesterday. Have not been out of the apartment in over a month, and it was a great day for it. Snow lingering on branches, covering the ugliness that happens sometimes with trash or whatever, making everything look shiny and beautiful. I like winter, says I to DD. NO, NO, NO, says she. So it got me thinking that yes, winter is inconvenient, but if you only focus on the inconveniences, you miss so much that is good and lovely about the season. Besides, I freaking love snow.

Also, very disappointed in my town’s snow removal. My friends husband used to work for the Highway Department and he always did a great job clearing the sidewalks. Then he retired. Since then, it has been hit or miss, mostly miss. They completely disregard the fact that people parked on the street need to be able to get into and out of their cars. Plan to complain about this, too. It has been much worse than this in past years, too. Small hills of ice to try to climb over without breaking something. For shame, Highway Department.

Was very happy to see protesters (not many, but still..) on street corners in the next town over with ‘We Brought Whistles, They Brought Guns’, and other signs. Many thumbs up. If I could, I would be out there with them.
