So I came across the youtube channel called Built To Eat, and it breaks down how and why food is not food in a lot of instances, and it made me realize that I feel sorry for people much younger than me who have no idea what food, actual real food, tastes like. It’s kind of sad. Every cost-cutting measure that is taken means you are eating less food and more chemicals and artificial substitutes that mean the product no longer resembles what it once was. I have not bought Domino’s pizza, which used to be a mainstay, in years, because it is really crap now. Papa Gino’s is not what it once was, either. Just one example. I remember what things tasted like, what their texture was, and so many things are just not what they once were. It is very discouraging, because I am no longer capable of making things from scratch. Even bread. What has happened to bread? The taste is wrong, the texture is wrong, and I wonder if I could make bread myself, would it be the same because flour has been modified and changed so much? I read a while back that today’s flour in the US bears no resemblance to the flour I grew up eating. I see things all the time wondering why there are so many children with food allergies, so many young people with colon cancer, and more health issues too, and seriously, nobody can figure out that our bodies were not designed nor are capable of digesting and utilizing the crap that is in almost all of our food today? We are killing our species in so many ways, not just food, in the name of profit. I wish I had a solution, but sadly, I do not.
